I was very successful in my family law practice because I spent time with my clients discussing all their options as to how to proceed in divorce and child custody disputes and guardianship cases. Over the past 47 years of helping families, I have seen the good, bad and the ugly (and sad) outcomes of runaway family disputes and prolonged court battles especially over children, money and property.
I have also seen how children suffer when their parents split and especially when a parent dies. I have seen how the grandparents suffer during child custody battles with the split of parents and death of one or both parents. Who will raise the children? What funds are available to help support the children? Will the courts let the children live with their grandparents or other loving family members?
With clear and comprehensive and compassionate estate planning, I am helping parents and grandparents put plans into place to secure the best result possible for children, for partners, for all heirs and loved ones. I am helping clients secure the health and safety of pets, large and small -from cats and dogs to large horse and cattle ranches.
My estate planning practice is more about learning about the needs of my clients and counseling them on their options – with estate planning, I am an advocate for my clients AND their heirs as we explore all options and then my clients decide what they need, want, and can afford for themselves and their heirs.
